First of all join the Mailing List and the IRC Channel!
There’s always some board member, and lots of other developers who help with the project in the IRC Channel.
So if you have any questions, someone will always be there to answer it for you.

Improve the WIKI

• Register on the WIKI.
• If you have any questions that the wiki doesn’t answer, add it to the FAQ.. or even better; ask the question in the IRC Channel and add question & answer to the FAQ.
• Check Wiki Todo / Kernel Design TODO for things that still need to be written.
• If you feel like some important sections are missing; make sure that it doesn’t already exist (in one form or another) and add it. (even better; ask about it in the IRC Channel first).

Programming work

• Compile & run the kernel.. if you can’t get it to work, then you can’t help improve it. Check here to get started.
• Check all the open Issues that still need to be done, choose one to work on.
• When you’ve fixed the bug you chose, or implemented the feature you chose to do; make a patch and send it to the mailing list.
